HISTORY comes to life at Hever Castle this summer as the ‘Knights of Royal England’ gallop into Kent for a series of exciting jousting tournaments.

The events promise to make for an entertaining day out for all the family, as mounted knights compete, with breathtaking displays of traditional medieval horsemanship and powerful foot soldiers demonstrate their combat skills.

Visitors will be encouraged to get involved and cheer for their chosen team, children will have the chance to parade with the knights and their horses and everyone will be able to learn about the weapons and battles of medieval times.

The events take place in the historic and glorious grounds of Hever Castle, complete with drawbridge and moat dating back to 1270. Nestled in the rolling Kent countryside the castle offers plenty of choice for a fun filled day.

There are 40 acres of gardens to enjoy including the award winning Italian Gardens as well as the magnificent 38-acre lake, with rowing boats for hire. Visitors can also negotiate the hedge or water maze or enjoy a lap around the adventure playground.

Not forgetting the castle itself, filled with antique treasures and the largest collection of Tudor portraits outside of London, there’s plenty to see, including the rooms of Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII.
