Glorious Autumn 13 - 19 October

Hever Castle waves goodbye to the summer months and welcomes the autumn, where visitors can  join the castle gardeners on tours of its extensive gardens cloaked in the golden and crimson hues of the season. Visitors will have the opportunity to find out how the gardens are put to bed for the winter and gather some handy hints and tips on planting and pruning in the autumn. 

Neil Miller, the Head Gardener, will be demonstrating how to plant up a winter pot with some imaginative ideas on how to keep the garden looking cheerful in the colder months. Visitors will be given a free raffle ticket on admission to the gardens for the chance to win the winter planted pot to take home.

The castle’s extensive gardens include Anne Boleyn’s Orchard and the spectacular and award winning Italian Gardens. The dazzling starbursts on the dahlia border should not be missed and visitors will have the chance to catch the Rose Garden’s last blooms of summer or take the Autumn trail around the lake and look out for flora and fauna..

Not forgetting the castle itself, filled with antique treasures and the largest collection of Tudor portraits outside of London, there’s plenty to see, including the rooms of Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII.
