Whats On

Most day time events are included in the cost of admission, however exhibitions and events inside the castle require a Castle ticket. Annual pass holders will receive special discounts on chargeable events.

Always check details before travelling. Hever Castle reserves the right to close all or part of the castle and grounds and to change or cancel events.

THE KNIGHTS OF ROYAL ENGLAND JOUSTING TOURNAMENTS

JULY 14 - 15; 21 - 22; 27 - 29 AUG. 10 -12; 17 - 19; 24 - 25

Henry VIII invites all to come and join in the special celebration when Sir Samuel of Hever is knighted. The King's magnificent Knights of Royal England return for the start of the annual Jousting Tournaments.

Spectators will be treated to an exciting display of action, stunts, falls and fights as the Knights of Royal England bring the medieval sport of jousting to life in this former castle of Kings. Which knights will win the tournament spurred on by the cheers of the crowds: The brave knights of the Blue Order or their arch rivals from the Red Banner? 

There will be minstrels, dancing and visitors will also have the chance to participate in the medieval sporting activities and can put their skills to the test in 'Have-a-go Archery'.

Programme of Event  

The King and Queen will arrive from the Castle at 2pm to greet visitors and invite them to the jousting which will begin at approximately 2.15pm at the events field.  The joust lasts for approximately 1 hour.

Have-a-go Archery*
