Visitors to Hever Castle and Gardens, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, can now take a historic tour with a futuristic twist as the castle launches its very own iPhone app.

Hever is one of the first independent tourist attractions in the UK to develop a talking guide app that visitors can upload to their iPhones in preparation for their visit. The multimedia guide takes users on a room-by-room tour around the castle, recounting tales of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, the demise of the Boleyn family and the restoration of the castle. At every stop, fascinating facts about the castle and its inhabitants are accompanied by detailed images.

In addition to the tour, the app lists the dates and descriptions of all the special events held throughout the year at the castle, such as Jousting Tournaments throughout July and August and the Mediterranean Weekend in September. It also includes an information section providing details of the opening hours, admission rates and all the other practical information visitors might need – making it the perfect companion on a trip to
Hever Castle.
