A Big Weekend of Festival Theatre Events this Bank Holiday

This weekend The Festival Theatre at Hever Castle are looking forward to a busy, early season, Bank Holiday programme of events. Due to not playing in August they have chosen to move several of their most popular shows to these early dates, so don’t miss out! Whether you are a fan of Motown or opera, comedy or Fleetwood Mac this is your opportunity to explore the estate out-of-hours and enjoy a fabulous show.

Motown & More with Natalie William Soul Family, Sat 3 May, 8pm. Festival superstar performers with a reputation as the UK’s finest Motown and Soul Show, Soul Family’s ‘Motown and More’ is the defining sound of soul and R&B music. Led by the inimitable Natalie Williams, they perform a sparling selection of the greatest songs ever – from the likes of Stevie Wonder, The Four Tops, The Supremes , and Marvin Gaye.

Dad’s Army Radio Show, Sun 4 May 2pm brings an early VE Day celebration with the nation’s favourite sitcom on stage. Two actors, two microphones, over twenty-five characters – and lots of sound effects. Dad’s Army Radio Show brings Perry and Croft’s classic BBC comedy to life in this highly acclaimed stage production.

A Summer Opera Evening, Sun 4 May, 8pm. The Festival are joined by Charles Court Opera to celebrate their 20th anniversary, as they present an evening of luxurious music. With a hand-picked, delightful programme which includes a selection of our favourite operatic masterpieces including arias, duets and scenes from Carmen (Seguidilla), The Barber of Seville (Una voce poco fa), Cosi fan tutte, La Traviata, Hansel and Gretel, and La boheme, Delibes (Flower Duet), Eugene Onegin (Ah Tanya, Tanya!) through to lighter songs and duets from My Fair Lady, The Wizard of Oz and South Pacific (including On the street where you live, I could have danced all night and Somewhere Over The Rainbow).

The Fleetwood Mac Story, Mon 5 May, 8pm. – A night of soul-nourishing nostalgia, with songs that that have become a staple in record collections around the world. These will include; The Chain, Everywhere, Dreams and many more. Night Owl Shows bring you more than just the music with a new take on the tribute genre that has won many hearts and awards around the world. Experience the emotion, energy and euphoria that makes Fleetwood one of the World’s best loved bands.

For all events you can bring a picnic or, indulge in afternoon tea after the Dad’s Army Radio Show on Sunday afternoon, and pre theatre supper before A Summer Opera Evening and The Fleetwood Mac Story. With feedback like this for the all-new Hever Castle catering team, we recommend you book early.
