Autumn Colour: Sustainable Crafts with Yuki Solle

September 22 2026 | Garden What's on

Autumn is a wonderful time to get creative, and this year Autumn Colour at Hever Castle is inviting visitors to make the most of the season while learning a few simple ways to live more sustainably.

Joining the autumn programme is sustainability expert Yuki Solle, founder of Cultivate Life, who will be at Hever on four days in October with a series of hands-on activities designed to show that being more sustainable can be both fun and creative.

Yuki’s Cultivate Life project is all about finding practical ways to live well while reducing waste, from making the most of the food we have to reusing everyday materials and finding simple alternatives to buying new.

Get creative with what you already have

During her sessions at Hever, Yuki will encourage visitors to look at everyday objects in a different way, turning materials that might otherwise be thrown away into something useful and seasonal.

Visitors can get involved in making upcycled jam jar lanterns and potato autumn mini wreaths, creating their own autumn decorations while discovering simple ideas for reducing waste at home.

The activities are designed to be hands-on and accessible, making them a great way for families and visitors of all ages to spend some time getting creative together.

And there’s no need to be an expert crafter. Yuki’s approach is about using what you already have, being resourceful and finding simple ways to make more sustainable choices part of everyday life.

Small changes, big difference

Sustainability can sometimes feel like a big challenge, but Yuki believes that small changes can make a real difference.

Her Cultivate Life work brings together practical ideas around sustainable living, food, growing, reducing waste and making better use of the things we already have.

Her Autumn Colour sessions are a chance to put some of those ideas into practice and perhaps take home a new craft, a new idea or a little inspiration to try something different.

Sustainable Autumn Crafts with Cultivate Life

Yuki’s sessions form part of Autumn Colour at Hever Castle, running from 28th September to 1st November, celebrating the changing season through the gardens, talks, activities and workshops.
