This August, Anne Boleyn the Musical makes its world premiere at Hever Castle – Anne’s childhood home.
From 2 – 30 August, the castle grounds will host a spectacular outdoor musical like no other, produced by Eliane Astor-de Merode and Simon de Merode for Historalia Productions. This brand new show tells the story of Anne’s extraordinary rise and fall with a moving score by Sam Gevers (recorded by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra) and lyrics by Rebecca Night and Sam Kenyon. Roxana Silbert directs the show, with choreography by Alistair David.
Emily Lane stars as Anne Boleyn, with Mark Goldthorp as Henry VIII, leading a cast of professional performers joined by 35 community cast members from across Kent – and live horses for added Tudor drama.
Performed in a specially constructed 1,800-seat outdoor auditorium with Hever Castle itself as the breathtaking backdrop, the production also marks the UK’s first ever outdoor musical to use binaural sound. Every audience member will receive a headset that immerses them in crystal-clear sound, capturing every note and whisper.
With exclusive behind the scenes access to the preparations you can witness this epic show take shape.
