The launch event for the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship 2019 season took place at Hever Castle on 26 March.

Drivers, teams, sponsored and the media gathered at the Castle for the start of the season event. Among the guests were Nicolas Hamilton (the brother of F1 champion Lewis Hamilton) who is making his debut this season.

The British Touring Car Championship for 2019 sees a 30 car line up with 12 different models of car and BMW and Toyota producing all new cars for the new season.

The talented field includes five former champions, a record 18 race-winners, lots of young stars, a mix of experienced hands and several debutants and even a former Formula 1 driver.

The season starts and ends at Brands Hatch with 30 races at eight venues across the UK from April to October.

Colin Turkington is the reigning champion and headlines the 30-driver grid but faces a challenge in his bid to claim back to back titles.

BTCC Chief Executive, Alan Gow, said: “We are delighted to present our full field of drivers, manufacturers, teams and cars for the 2019 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship, as we head into yet another thrillingly unpredictable campaign in the UK’s biggest and best motorsport series.”
