Hever Castle Golf Club‘s Head Greenkeeper shows you how to create your own flower meadow using the meadow flower seeds available from the Online Shop from the Hever Shop, the Courtyard Shop and the Club Shop at Hever Castle Golf Club. Plant them now and they will bloom in 50 to 60 days and give you an absolutely stunning display of meadow flowers.
In the summer months, Hever Castle’s own flower meadows will bloom and visitors will be able to take in their natural beauty. You will be able to see the flowers as soon as you walk through the top gate entrance, by the Hever Shop and whilst walking around the lake.
Both the seeds and the fleece are available to purchase on the Online Shop. All orders will be sent out with full instructions.
The flower meadows have been created by Rob Peers the Head Greenkeeper at Hever Castle Golf Club. Rob says: “Hever Castle’s CEO, Duncan Leslie, afforded me the opportunity to create a long-standing ambition of his – to create flower meadows on the Golf Course and the lower walks on the lake within the grounds of Hever Castle.”
Each of the selected areas had different considerations and their own micro climate, environment and purpose. For Rob Peers, it was really important to select sites that would improve bio-diversity and to provide functionality and purpose to the areas which had previously been dominated by aggressive species such as bramble and nettle.
Rob and his team used seed mixes supplied by Rigby Taylor and worked with Euroflor to create the flower meadows.
