Catering for Saturday 4 – Sunday 5 September

Alive in the Summertime

Catering 4 – 5 September 2021

Due to staff shortages, catering in the grounds of Hever Castle & Gardens will be limited for this weekend (Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 September). This is due to nationwide hospitality staff shortages as widely reported in the press. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

We will be operating a takeaway only service from our Moat Restaurant and whilst we strive to have most other outlets open, full hot meals will not be available and we will be operating other outlets with reduced staff, so queues are unfortunately likely. Full details about what will be open can be found here.

The Pavilion Restaurant will be closed this weekend.

We therefore urge visitors to bring a picnic and enjoy the many lovely areas that are available for this. A selection of suggested spaces has been collated here.

Water points will be available around the site so you can fill up your bottles.

Local supermarkets in Edenbridge for picnic provisions include: Waitrose, Lidl and Tesco.

Full Hot Meals

For a full hot meal, we advise pre-booking at one of the nearby pubs and restaurants including:

The Waterside Bar, Restaurant & Terrace at Hever Castle Golf & Wellbeing – book online

Alternatively the King Henry VIII Pub (closed Mondays), The Greyhound Inn or The Wheatsheaf Pub.

Takeaway Outlets – subject to staff availability. Please enquire on the day.

• Moat Restaurant – Takeaway only with a limited menu and no internal seating – menu to follow
• Pizza
• Kiosks

  • Moat Restaurant Grab and Go
  • Solleys Ice Cream
  • Water Maze
  • Loggia Ice Cream

The Loggia Bar will be closed and the Tudor Towers Kiosk is also likely to remain closed for the duration of the bank holiday weekend.

Afternoon Teas
All Afternoon Teas at the Castle & Gardens are cancelled and we are in the process of contacting everyone that has booked.

Pre-Theatre Suppers
All Pre-Theatre Suppers are cancelled and the Festival Theatre are in the process of contacting everyone that has booked.

Once again, we are sorry for any inconvenience caused and we hope that by alerting you to this matter in advance that it will have less impact on your visit.

We hope you enjoy your day.
