Christmas at Hever is now in full swing, and its seasonal experience will run until 2nd January.
As darkness falls from around 4pm, Hever Castle’s extensive grounds are magically transformed. Wrap up with coats and scarves, enjoy some warming food and drink and step into a world of wonder. You will see the Castle, gardens and lake all bathed in wondrous festive lights, capturing the heart of the Christmas season.
Bring torches, pop on your wellies and lead your family on an adventure, taking in glorious colour washes, spectacular illuminations and enchanting music.
Snap some photos among the decorations and even interact with the light displays, which illuminate different trees throughout the grounds. This is the perfect opportunity for enjoying a family outing and creating lasting memories.
As day turns to night, the Christmas Lights experience will simply enhance the feel-good factor!
This year’s theme for Hever Castle & Gardens is Christmas In The Land Of Oz, which sees visitors entering a world of seasonal magic.
Beginning their journey in Kansas, at Dorothy’s house, visitors will walk the Wizard of Oz-inspired trail, meeting familiar characters along the way, including the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion.
Stroll through Munchkinland and join the yellow brick road before arriving at the dazzling Emerald City, brought to life by a striking green illumination on the historic Castle from dusk.
More festive fun is to be had on the castle forecourt with The Octopus, a vintage children’s ride, alongside favourites including the big wheel and carousel.
Inside the Castle, lavishly decorated rooms will be filled with twinkling lights, glittering trees and log fires, the perfect gift for those seeking the joy and nostalgia of a traditional Christmas.
Seasonal treats will be on offer at Hever’s cafés and kiosks, while visitors can also enjoy relaxed Christmas shopping in the gift shops.
