We are delighted to announce that we have received confirmation from our local Environmental Health Officer that we can proceed with Christmas and Father Christmas at Hever Castle during the lockdown period (21st Nov – 2 Dec).
As a large outside space, Hever Castle’s Gardens can be enjoyed safely by visitors with the measures that have been in place since reopening in June, including social distancing, enhanced cleaning, and limits on visitor numbers.
Gardens like Hever Castle’s have offered a vital safe sanctuary to the public for their mental and physical health during these times, and we are delighted that this has been recognised by UK Government.
All Christmas ticket holders that had made a booking, on or before the 11th November, for the lockdown period were sent an email on 11th November and another email on the 13th November to confirm their options.
We thank you for your patience during this difficult time and if you haven’t received your email please check your junk/spam folders before contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We can confirm the following experience for the period 21st Nov – 2 Dec:
• A Peter Pan themed (one-way) Christmas Trail for mental stimulation whilst enjoying the fresh air and taking exercise
• After dusk, enjoy a walk, in safety, under the stars and surrounded by fabulous colours and twinkling lights. Illuminations will be along the trail and throughout the grounds.
• During daylight hours the play areas will be open for younger visitors wanting to let off steam.
• A takeaway service will operate for food and drink in the grounds. Discover more here.
The Carousel and Fairgrounds Stalls will not be available, and Characters (Actors) will not be present in the grounds.
The Castle will be closed. Anyone impacted who has a Castle & Gardens ticket for this period will receive an email from us with your options.
Whilst the Grotto will be closed, Father Christmas has come up with a solution. Ticket holders that have booked and ‘clicked’ to see Father Christmas will be able to ‘collect’ their presents from Father Christmas who will greet them at the doorway at the Castle entrance and will be happy to pose for a quick socially distanced photo. We are operating under strict guidelines and although the experience will be more limited than usual, we hope that ticket holders will appreciate the opportunity to meet with the big man even though it is not in his usual splendour. Anyone impacted who has a Grotto ticket for this period will receive an email from us with your options.
