We know that for many guests, a getaway isn’t complete without their four-legged companion. That’s why for a limited time during the school summer holidays, we’re welcoming well-behaved dogs to accompany you on your stay at Medley Court Holiday Cottage.

This summer, enjoy a memorable dog-friendly escape at Hever Castle, without leaving your best friend behind.

Nestled within the beautiful grounds of Hever Castle, Medley Court offers the perfect dog-friendly accommodation for a memorable getaway. Explore the estate and enjoy exclusive access to the gardens and grounds outside of public opening hours. With your four-legged friend by your side and on a lead at all times, discover the beauty of the Kent countryside together before returning to the comfort of your private holiday cottage to relax and unwind.

To help make your dog’s stay as enjoyable as yours, we’ll provide a small welcome pack with everything they need to settle in.

Before You Book

Are dogs allowed in the Bed & Breakfast?
Dogs are not permitted within the Bed & Breakfast, including the bar, lounge and billiards room. Dogs are only permitted in Medley Court Holiday Cottage on selected dates as part of our limited-time dog-friendly offer.

How many dogs can stay at Medley Court?
A maximum of two house-trained dogs can accompany you on your stay.

Is there an additional charge for dogs?
There is not an additional charge for dogs. Any dog-related damage to the property will be charged for.

Do I need to let you know I’m bringing a dog?
Yes, please let us know when you book so we can ensure everything is ready for your arrival. Dogs at Medley Court is a limited time offer and only available on the advertised dates. If you do not inform us at the time of booking, provisions will not be provided.

During Your Stay

What is provided for dogs?

Can my dog be left alone in Medley Court?
We ask that dogs are not left unattended in Medley Court at any time.

Can dogs go on the furniture or beds?
We ask that dogs refrain from going on the furniture or on the beds.

Is the garden enclosed?
The Medley Court garden is not enclosed and given surrounding water features, wildlife and visitors, we ask that you are aware of the location of your dog and in control of your dog at all times. Whilst your dog is on site, it remains your responsibility and your duty of care towards other people and wildlife is the same as it would be at any other time and place.

Around the Estate

Can dogs visit Hever Castle & Gardens?
You are welcome to bring your dog into the gardens, provided they remain on a lead at all times. Dogs are not permitted in the Castle.

Are there good walks nearby?
There are lots of local footpaths, countryside walks and nearby dog-friendly pubs or cafés.

Are there dog bins on the estate?
There are dog bins on the Estate and at Medley Court.

The nearest town to Hever Castle is Edenbridge where there are a number of vets. We advise you to check websites and find one that is most suitable to you. Here are a few suggestions:

What should I do if my dog causes damage?
Please inform us of any damage your dog has caused when you check out which will give us an opportunity for you to show us the damage whilst you are on site with us. The associated cost for rectifying this damage will be charged to you and if the amount is greater than the damage deposit taken at the time of booking, the difference will be communicated to you and payment requested.

What do I need to bring?

Are puppies allowed?
Given that Medley Court is a five-star gold rental property we ask that you refrain from bringing dogs that are not house trained.

Are dogs allowed in the Bed & Breakfast?
Dogs are not permitted within the Bed & Breakfast area including the bar, lounge and the billiards room.

Can I book a dog sitter or dog walker during my stay?
Yes, you can bring a dog sitter or walker with you during your stay but you must inform us at the time of booking to guarantee entrance.
