The ever popular Festival Theatre at Hever Castle kicks off its 2016 season in spectacular style on Sunday 28th May.
On opening night the stunning outdoor venue will resound with the Bee Gees’ best-selling hits, as The Magic of the Bee Gees gets the audience up on their feet.
Hal Cruttenden then provides a comedic end to a fantastic opening weekend on Sunday 29th May with his hilarious rants about the real ‘evils’ of the modern world.
Festival Theatre director, Anna Skinner, said “We are delighted to be back in the award winning gardens of Hever Castle for another fantastic season of open-air theatre. With our fully covered stage and seating canopies over the majority of seats, our audiences are sure to enjoy the show no matter the weather.”
Located on the picturesque Two Sisters’ Lawn adjacent to Anne Boleyn Walk, the theatre is surrounded by plenty of charming picnic spots. Audiences can also enjoy a pre-theatre supper or cream tea in the nearby Guthrie Pavilion Restaurant (pre-booking required) or purchase from the snack food counter.
Half-term family fun comes in the form of an entertaining and heart-warming adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Danny the Champion of the World on 1st and 2nd June. Rounding off the first week of the season is the ever popular smash hit show Magic of Motown on Friday 3rd June, followed by The Best Musicals Ever! on Sunday 5th June featuring a live band and six West End performers.
In July and August an exciting programme of plays, musical entertainment, family shows, opera, jazz, comedy and a week of cinema under the stars provides something for everyone to enjoy. Highlights include One Many Two Guvnors, The Ronnie Scott’s All Stars, Peter Pan, Ruddigore, The Simon & Garfunkel Story and Russell Kane.

Please note:
The gates open at 6.30pm for evening performances, with the shows starting at 8pm. If you do arrive earlier than 6.30pm you will not be allowed down to the theatre or its car park and must wait in the car park opposite the main entrance.
The gates open at 1.45pm for Matinée and Family performances, with the shows starting at 2.30pm. You will not be allowed into the Castle grounds if you arrive before this time, but are welcome to enjoy the gardens after the performance. Exit is when the Castle closes at 6pm. You will need to purchase a ticket from Hever Castle if you’d like to enter the grounds before 1.45pm, or to go inside the Castle at any time.
