Nearly eighty golfers teed off at Hever Castle Golf Club on Thursday 20 April to help raise money for a local primary school.
Hever Church of England Primary School is fundraising to build two new classrooms so it can offer single form entry in September 2017.
Sue Houghton, the Chair of Governors explained: “At the moment the children are taught in mixed year groups. The two new classrooms will enable Hever to provide single form entry with all the recognised educational benefits that teaching children in classes of one age group brings.”
The participants on the day enjoyed playing a round of golf in the picturesque Kent countryside, and placed bids on the generously donated silent auction prizes.
There were fantastic prizes to be won, as well as a hole in one competition with prizes donated by Sanlam Private Wealth of Sevenoaks. The fundraising event was also supported by Cooper Tonbridge who provided a Mini One on the day to support the competition and made a donation to the fund.
Golf Club General Manager, Jon Wittenberg, said: “We were delighted to support Hever School with a golf day to raise much needed funds for their new classrooms.”
