Christmas at Hever Castle has been named a finalist in the top industry awards, the Beautiful South Awards.
The historic attraction’s popular annual festive event is up against Go Ape, Bracknell, South of England Show 2021, Ardingly and Wakehurst – Glow Wild, Haywards Heath, in the Experience and Event of the Year category.
Globalls – Indoor UV Mini Golf, Brighton Marina and Light Up Wiston, Steyning have been highly commended.
Christmas at Hever Castle offers an experience to remember with over a year’s worth of preparation.
In 2020 visitors entered the magical world of Neverland, following a festive Peter Pan themed trail through the grounds.
The interactive trail, all made bespoke inhouse, led visitors through the Lost Boys’ camp to the Mermaid Lagoon, Native American camp and past the Crocodile and Captain Hook’s pirate ship, ending with Nana in her kennel.
In front of the Castle there was a traditional Carousel and fairground stalls including a coconut shy and hoopla.
A grotto and toy workshop were created, adding to the unforgettable experience for children visiting Father Christmas.
As dusk fell, the gardens were illuminated with up-lighting and colour washes.
Run by Tourism South East in partnership with Services for Tourism Ltd, the awards recognise achievement in the tourism industry over the last 18 months.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 25 April.
