Hever Castle has concluded its latest successful Charity of the Year partnership. In a remarkable achievement, Hever Castle raises huge sum for Cancer Research UK through its fundraising efforts.
In an event on Tuesday 27th January, Hever confirmed it had raised a total of more than £21,000 for Cancer Research UK. To mark the occasion, staff participated in a photoshoot outside the historic attraction.
Hever committed itself to a series of fundraising initiatives in aid of Cancer Research UK throughout 2025, concluding with its Christmas In the Land Of Oz festive event.
Many visitors generously added a small donation when booking a ticket online. In addition, the public have been supporting the charity throughout the year via collection boxes on site and by purchasing Cancer Research UK pin badges, with all donations helping to fund vital lifesaving research.
Hever staff further boosted funds by holding an Easter cake sale, while second-hand clothing donations (plus items of unclaimed lost property) have also been a huge success, adding more than £2,350 to the annual total.
The Oxted and Westerham Cancer Research committee played a key role, too, by organising a special two-course lunch with Lord Astor of Hever in September.
Emily Moffatt, Relationship Manager for Cancer Research UK, Kent & East Sussex, said:
“We were delighted to be Hever Castle’s Charity of the Year for 2025, and we’ve been simply bowled over by the fantastic amount of fundraising that has taken place during the year.
“The generosity of visitors, alongside the dedicated support of the Hever Castle team, is nothing less than vital in funding our groundbreaking research in fighting cancer.”
Hever’s previous charities of the year include the British Heart Foundation, the Alzheimer’s Society, Hospice in the Weald and the British Red Cross.
Hever Castle’s Charity of the Year for 2026 is Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS) and both parties will be announcing more news about this exciting new partnership soon.
Hever is also inviting applications for 2027.
