Hever Castle is thrilled to be the setting for the world premiere of Anne Boleyn The Musical this summer, and we are excited to share a unique opportunity for local talent to be part of this spectacular production.
Historalia Productions is inviting passionate volunteer performers to join the professional cast for this large-scale outdoor event, which will take place in a specially constructed 1,800-seat auditorium on the lawn in front of Hever Castle from 2 – 30 August 2025.
Auditions are open to amateur actors, singers, and dancers aged nine and over, offering a rare chance to perform in a production set within the very grounds where Anne Boleyn spent her early years.
Auditions will be held at the Bat and Ball Station Booking Hall, Sevenoaks on the following dates:

Lydia Scott Johnson, Associate Director, shared her excitement: “This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for local people of all ages and experience levels to become involved in a one-of-a-kind new musical. Community chorus members will have the opportunity to experience performing on a large-scale musical set in a unique and beautiful location, as well as meeting like-minded local people and celebrating the story of Anne and Hever Castle. We’re looking to cast up to 60 people per performance and have a variety of roles available for people interested in acting, singing or dancing (or all three!). Having grown up in Kent, visited Hever Castle throughout my life and worked extensively with community theatre in the area, I’m very excited to be a part of this production and to help create this amazing opportunity for local people.”
Set against the stunning backdrop of Anne Boleyn’s childhood home, Anne Boleyn The Musical explores the transformation of a young girl leaving England into a woman who returns to Hever Castle, destined to capture the heart of a king. Anne’s rise and fall altered the course of history forever, and this musical brings her story to life like never before.
Director Roxana Silbert, alongside a talented creative team including book writer Rebecca Night, composer Sam Gevers, and lyricists Rebecca Night & Sam Kenyon, will present a powerful retelling of Anne’s story through song and spectacle. The production will also feature stunning set and costume designs by Robert Innes-Hopkins and sound design by The Ringham Brothers.
Historalia co-founder and director Eliane Astor-de Merode, who is also the future Lady Astor of Hever, shared her enthusiasm: “Hever Castle provides an unmatched historical backdrop for this unforgettable musical. We are delighted to invite members of the public of all ages to audition and take part in bringing Anne’s story to life.”
