Ahead of the thrilling four day culmination to the 2016 Summer Jousting Tournament at Hever Castle, Sir Sam of Hever has closed the gap between himself and scoreboard leader Sir Jasper.
With the Olympics in their sights, the flamboyant knights have been upping their training regime and are taking no prisoners in their quest to rein supreme in the 2016 tournament.
The weekend of 13/14 August saw big crowds gather, with Sir Sam commencing a late scoring charge, Sir Stephen missing lots of points and Sir Jasper failing to extend his lead.
Despite some rainy weather on the Saturday, the weekend of 20/21 August saw large crowds turn out and witness the intense competition between the knights. Sir Sam scored well in spite of being knocked clean out of the saddle with an almighty blow from Sir Jasper, and Lord Ashley won the weekend.
This weekend jousts will be taking place on Friday 26, Saturday 27, Sunday 28 and Monday 29 August at 2:00pm daily, so come along to cheer on your favourite knights and enjoy the entertainment.
Tudor Living and Jousting is taking place on Saturday 27 – Monday 29 with a Tudor encampment, archery displays, and foot soldier drills that the kids can join in with. This is also the last weekend of Knights and Princesses School for 2016.
In the lead up to the final four days of jousting, Sir Jasper leads on 257 points, Sir Sam of Hever is second on 240 points, Lord Ashley of Hampshire is third with 197 points and Sir Stephen of Porlock sits in fourth place with 189 points.
