The exciting action of jousting will go ahead as planned at Hever Castle this weekend, despite the wet weather forecast.
We are committed to ensuring the welfare of both the horses and riders, and The Knights of Royal England, the professional team behind the thrilling displays, are well used to working in all weather conditions.
However, with a weather warning in place and thunderstorms forecast, we kindly advise all visitors to come prepared for changing conditions. The welfare of our visitors is also important to us, and we are actively monitoring the situation in case of any sudden weather developments.
While the jousting arena has limited cover, there are some sheltered areas around the grounds where you can take refuge if needed. We strongly recommend bringing waterproofs, sturdy footwear, and umbrellas.
In the event of any lightning in the immediate area, performances may be temporarily delayed or adjusted to ensure the safety of the audience, performers, and animals. Any updates will be communicated on-site.
With these precautions in place, we still look forward to welcoming you for a thrilling weekend of spectacular jousting, set against the dramatic backdrop of Hever Castle.
