We previously reported the story of Hever Castle swan ‘Leonard’s Wife’ who went to The Swan Sanctuary at Shepperton to have her neck assessed as she wasn’t eating very well.
After carefully examining her, the team found there was nothing wrong apart from the back of her neck being gristly and fortunately she gradually began eating again of her own accord.
Today she was reunited with Leonard and enjoyed her first swim back in the river Eden.
Thank you to the team at The Swan Sanctuary for taking such good care of her for the past 2 ½ weeks and also to the Swan & Friends Bird Rescue team for all their care collecting and returning ‘Leonard’s Wife.’ A special mention also goes to Lily, one our Visitor Experience Assistants, who has followed her progress throughout.
