Ticket Holders 20 Dec 2020 – 3 Jan 2021

December 19 2020 | What's on

Update as of 24/12/20 – We’re sorry to announce that Twilight Winter Walks is now cancelled from the 28th December and up to and including 3rd January. The 27th will continue as planned.

A full statement is available here.

The information below has been updated in accordance with this.

Following the announcement made by the Prime Minister on the 19th December and as Kent moves into Tier 4, we can now confirm that the following experience will be available during the period 20 – 27 Dec.

The latest guidance for tier 4 is that visitors can exercise or visit a public outdoor place like Hever Castle, alone, with the people they live with, their support bubble or, when on their own, with 1 person from another household. Children under 5, and up to two carers for a person with a disability who needs continuous care are not counted towards the outdoors gatherings limit.

All ticket holders that had made a booking, on or before the 19th December, for the period 20th – 3rd Jan – have been sent two emails on 19th December, one to confirm their options.

All ticket holders for the period 28th Dec – 3rd Jan have been sent an additional email on 24th December.

We thank you for your patience, understanding and support during this difficult time.

What will be open until and including the 27th Dec?

What will be closed?

What will be open 28th Dec – 3rd Jan?

The grounds will close at 16:30. Please remember to bring a torch as it may be dark in places if leaving at or after dusk.

What will be closed?

As a large outside space, Hever Castle’s Gardens can be enjoyed safely by visitors with the measures that have been in place since reopening in June, including social distancing, enhanced cleaning and limits on visitor numbers.

Gardens like Hever Castle’s have offered a vital safe sanctuary to the public for their mental and physical health during these times, and we are grateful that this continues to be recognised by UK Government.

Father Christmas

The Grotto will be closed but ticket holders that have booked and ‘clicked’ to see Father Christmas will be able to ‘collect’ their presents from Father Christmas who will greet them at the doorway at the Castle entrance and will be happy to pose for a quick socially distanced photo. We are operating under strict guidelines and the same way we operated during Lockdown 2. Although the experience will be more limited than usual, we hope that ticket holders will appreciate the opportunity to meet with the big man even though it is not in his usual splendour. Anyone impacted who has a Grotto ticket for this period will receive an email from us with your options.
