Following the Government’s recent announcement of a national lockdown and the latest Government guidance updated on 3rd November 2020 we can now confirm the following status for each part of the Hever Castle Estate.
Further information is provided below. If you need to contact Hever Castle regarding a booking, please do bear with us as our phone lines are currently very busy. If you email us, we will respond to your query as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience.
Hever Castle Gardens to Remain Open
Having reviewed Government guidance that now states that ‘heritage homes and landmarks must also close, though outdoor grounds of these premises can stay open’, we are delighted to confirm that Hever Castle can continue to welcome visitors to the gardens during the period 5th Nov – 2nd Dec.
We, therefore, plan to keep Hever Castle’s gardens open. However, should Government advice around gardens change, or we are unable to generate sufficient revenue, and we are forced to close, anyone impacted who has a garden visit booking will be contacted and offered the opportunity to return at an alternative date (where possible), or a refund.
Hever Castle’s gardens offer a wonderful opportunity to walk and enjoy the fresh air in an outdoor space that has additional safety measures in place including social distancing, enhanced cleaning and limits on visitor numbers.
Remember, you can visit an outdoor public place with the people you live with, with your support bubble or, when on your own, with one person from another household.
The play areas (Tudor Towers and Acorn Dell) will remain open.
Indoor catering will close and mobile or takeaway catering will be available.
The Castle will close from 5th November until 2nd December.
The shops will close but the Online Shop will remain open and a click and collect service will operate from the Hever Shop.
