Hever Castle & Gardens is hosting a special Forest Bathing for Menopause Support workshop on Saturday 6th September.
Led by Tansy Dowman, an award-winning, nature-based wellness expert, the workshop will be taking place in Hever’s private woodland and offers an ideal opportunity to experience the castle grounds in a truly relaxing and restorative way.
Tansy’s approach blends science-backed mindfulness techniques with the wisdom of the natural world, creating powerful experiences that support mental health, wellbeing and personal growth.
A coach and TEDx speaker, she hosts a number of workshops throughout the year, offering people of all ages and backgrounds the chance to slow down, reconnect and rediscover the power of presence.
Tansy said: “Whether you are in the midst of menopause or simply seeking space to breathe, this session invites you to make nature your ally. Hever Castle’s woodland offers a peaceful sanctuary where the stresses of everyday life can gently melt away. My experiences set out to nurture body, mind and soul, especially during life’s transitional seasons.”
One such transition is menopause; a time of emotional, physical and hormonal change that can leave many women feeling overwhelmed or unseen. While there is now growing awareness around menopause and its impact, there are still few places where women can come to pause, reflect and feel truly supported.
Tansy added: “Menopause often brings heightened stress and anxiety, affecting both body and mind. Spending time in green spaces has been proven to lower cortisol (the stress hormone), ease tension and help regulate the nervous system.
“Whether strolling along Anne Boleyn’s Walk or sitting quietly beside the lake, Hever’s tranquil setting naturally encourages calm and clarity.”
Forest Bathing for Menopause Support takes place on Saturday 6th September, between 10am and 1.30pm. This gentle, guided session will include grounding breathwork, sensory exercises and moments of stillness, designed to help all those attending feel encouraged and supported.
