outdoor threatreThe Hever Festival Theatre summer season launches today (Monday 15th March 2021) with their largest open air theatre festival ever.

To be able to do so they have moved performances around a little so they are now taking place in four open air theatre venues set in the gardens of Hever Castle: the Two Sisters’ Theatre, the Main Lawn Stage, the Loggia and Anne Boleyn’s Walk.

Open air theatre shows for 2021 include the heart-warming gipsy virtual orchestra The People’s String Foundation, magician Ben Hart, a brand–new production of the ballet, ‘The Secret Garden’ on in the magical setting of the Loggia, The Greatest Showman Singalong as well as full summer of socially distanced festival favourites. The theatre is delighted to welcome a talk from our very own Dr Owen Emmerson The Boleyn’s of Hever Castle with Claire Ridgway.

You can view the full programme here.

The Bitesize Festival was a moment of wellbeing during August 2020. It has proved that Hever Festival Theatre is able to run the festival with Covid precautions and good social distancing, which will be in place until government guidance suggests otherwise. Full details of their safety measure can be found here.

Recent feedback from their Bitesize audiences included comments such as,

“The best theatre setting in the world.”

“I’m so delighted to be seeing live theatre again after all these months, I just can’t wait!”

“Superb night – what a setting and how the audience behaved perfectly! A great time was had by all.”
