Available to purchase from the Hever Shop, this week’s plant of the week is Galanthus Elwesii, commonly called the Giant Flowered Snowdrop.
Not typically found in garden centres, the flowers are a lot bigger than Galanthus Nivalis at up to 2.5cm long.
These plants have wonderful honey scented flowers in January & February and there are two distinctive green markings on the petals.
Plant in dappled shade – ideal under trees and hedges.
Would make a delightful and unusual Christmas present for a gardening friend or relative.
