The Moat Restaurant at Hever Castle will be closed from 11th April – 23rd May for refurbishment. Whilst the seating area won’t change much, the way visitors select, pay for and are served their meal will be greatly improved.
The concept is around trying to improve the flow and speed of transactions; hot food orders will be placed at the tills and delivered to the table, and hot drink orders will be placed at the tills and picked up at a new collection point.
The toilet facilities will also be changing. The entrance point will be relocated so that visitors ordering food won’t be disrupted by those needing to use the facilities. There will be more space within the toilets themselves and baby changing facilities will be available in the women’s, men’s and disabled toilets.
Whilst the Moat Restaurant is closed, the Guthrie Pavilion Café and Restaurant will be open. Located just to the side of the Loggia beyond the Rose Garden, it is the perfect spot for a spring snack or a hearty lunch. A kiosk located near the Moat Restaurant will provide a selection of take away items and the ever popular ice-cream kiosks will be open subject to the weather conditions (check at the Information Centre). During the May bank holiday weekend there will also be mobile vehicles providing a selection of food and refreshments for the May Day Festival.

The Moat Restaurant at Hever Castle will reopen in time for Edwardian Life on Saturday 28th May.
