Hever Festival Theatre is a stunning open air venue set in the grounds of Hever Castle & Gardens.
The 2020 programme is still being finalised but one of the highlights is a collaboration with Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London as part of the Globe on Tour series.
Direct from Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre visitors to the Hever Festival Theatre 2020 will be able to see The Tempest, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and As You Like It between Thursday 27 August and Saturday 29 August with a Friday matinee performance available as well as evenings performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Find out more information here.
Globe on Tour is designed to replicate what happened in Shakespeare’s time so when the theatre was closed a small group left London and went out on tour.
Alongside Hever Festival Theatre the actors from Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre will also be visiting The Brewhouse in Taunton, Somerset, Hay Festival and St James’ Guernsey.
The plays will be performed by the Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre actors as they would have been in the 17th century with a minimal set and actors playing several roles across all the three plays.
Tickets for Hever Festival Theatre 2020 are available now for Festival Friends before they go on public sale on Monday 2 December.

About Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre:
The present Globe Theatre is on the bank of the River Thames in London, a few hundred metres from the original site and was opened in 1997 following a 400 year absence. The reconstruction of the new site was led by actor and director Sam Wanamaker.
The site also houses the Sam Wanamaker Theatre – a replica of a Jacobian Theatre which houses plays, panel discussions, lectures and musical events.
