Rose Garden at Hever Castle

Summer Events:

1. Jousting – selected weekends
Watch The Knights of Royal England as they battle it out in an authentic arena.

2. Adventures in Time Travel – daily 24 July – 3 September
Take part in a series of hands-on activities and challenges as part of Adventures in Time Travel this summer at Hever Castle.

3. Falconry Displays – selected days in July and August
Be entertained by the twice daily falconry displays from Willow’s Bird of Prey Centre.

4. Supercar Weekend – 3 & 4 August
Experience a whole host of stunning cars with their own individual stories on display in the gardens with the Castle as a stunning backdrop. Organised by Challenge the Road.

Here’s what awaits you in the Castle:

1. Centuries of History
Discover over 600 years of history with a visit to the double moated Castle once the childhood home of Anne Boleyn.

2. Castle Audio Guides
Find out even more about the history of Hever Castle, home to two of King Henry VIII’s wives, with a castle audio guide – included free with every Castle ticket.

3. The Boleyn Apartment – now open
Hever Castle unveiled the newly refurbished Boleyn Apartment on Wednesday 26th June. They are the only surviving suite of rooms lived in by the Boleyn family and incredibly they’re largely structurally unaltered.

Here’s what awaits you in gardens:

1. Water Maze – daily (weather dependent)
Do you have what it takes to get to the middle without getting wet? This is a maze with a difference!

2. Tudor Towers – daily
Kids rule in this 9m tall wooden play castle complete with its own moat, drawbridge, three towers to climb and two fireman’s poles to escape via, children will love discovering what’s around each turn.

3. Acorn Dell Playground – daily
Younger visitors can explore the natural play area including sandpit, willow tunnel and slide.

4. Swings – daily
Try out the swings in the play area that includes a zip wire, climbing frames and a slide.

5.  Yew Maze – daily (weather dependent)
Enjoy the challenge of finding your way through the 100 year old Yew Maze.

6. Rose Garden
Take in the sights and scents of 5,000 roses in the stunning Rose Garden.

7. Diana’s Walk
Weave along the pathways of this prairie garden with its riot of colour, touching the perennials and grasses and smelling their perfume.

8. Italian Garden
Marvel at the Pompeiian Wall and classical statuary in the Italian Garden. The Loggia, overlooking the 38-acre lake, is the perfect spot to relax before exploring the many cascades, grottoes and fountains.
