Take part in a series of interactive activities and enter the magic of Hever during medieval times.
From 1 July to 31 August follow the brave knight on his quest through the Castle, coming across mythical beasts and learning the best way to protect yourself.
Find all the shields hidden in the gardens, these shields help to protect you from the creatures found in the castle. Discover how each shield works as your wander through the grounds.
Throughout the summer holidays (22 July – 31 August), join our resident sorcerers and learn the tricks of the trade as part of summer at Hever Castle. Learn about magical creatures and find out which are friend and which are foe. Find out how to cast spells and how to execute the perfect wand waving technique. Pick up your broomstick and defend the castle from the dragon. Come dressed as fairy-tale characters, your favourite witch or wizard or perhaps as a brave knight and the best dressed will receive a certificate.
The Knights of Royal England will once again return for the annual Jousting Tournaments on July 10 & 11; 17 & 18; 24 & 25, 31 August 1, 14 & 15; 21 & 22; 27 – 30 for summer at Hever Castle. Watch as they battle it out and entertain with exhilarating displays of action, stunts, falls and fights in an authentic arena complete with a Royal Box.
On selected days in July and August be entertained by the falconry displays from Birds of Prey Willow Centre in Sevenoaks for summer at Hever Castle.
Hever in History
Immerse yourselves in living history encampments and experience crafts, cooking, and battle displays from the Middle Ages to as recent as 20th Century as part of Hever in History (28 – 30 August), this summer at Hever Castle.
Get up close to weaponry and suits of armour and try them on for size (subject to current government guidelines)
The bank holiday weekend also sees the last Jousting tournaments – who will be the final victor?
Naturalist, wildlife detective and learning specialist Ed Drewitt will lead a one hour Wildlife Walk Experience around the woodlands on the Hever Castle estate on Friday 30 July. Join a group of up to 20 people, suitable for adults and children aged 7 years and over with four different start times throughout the day.
