Volunteer at Hever Castle Garden

Come rain or shine our gardeners are out in the grounds making sure that everything is as perfect as can be. The lawns are lovingly mowed, the Pompeiian Wall is pristine and the Garden walks are always glowing with colour. They ensure that nothing is out of place with the giant topiary chess set in the Tudor Garden and that the sensational Rose Garden and striking Blue Corner remain in perfect order.

It’s no wonder we have an award winning Garden

Alongside the team of 11 paid gardeners at Hever Castle & Gardens is a group of volunteers who help to keep the magnificent 125 acre gardens tidy and weed free and carry out jobs such as mowing and planting.

Hever’s Head Gardener Neil Miller is now appealing for anyone with a passion for plants to think about giving up some time to volunteer. The annual Volunteers’ Week runs from 1 – 7 June, a chance to say thank you to all those who volunteer.

Neil said: “A big thank you to everyone who gives up their time to come and help us out. For the team it’s nice to see a fresh face. They are lively characters and they lift people. Their work is so thorough.

“We are always looking for committed volunteers with enthusiasm for gardening. They just need to turn up with a big smile on their face and love gardening.”

The Garden at Hever Castle is truly such a wonderful place to volunteer at. Overnight the Garden can transform with new blooming flowers so you’re never quite sure what you are going to walk into each day!

Make sure you head to the Garden section on our website so you can see for yourself how spectacular the Castle grounds are.
