The Waterside Restaurant, Bar & Terrace is soon to open at Hever Castle Golf Club – one mile from the Castle & Gardens entrance.
The new dining area at Hever Castle Golf Club will look out onto a scenic pond and fountain, from a decked area for 50 people as well as soft seating for around 20.
There will be a lawn area for outdoor games as well as a competition sized boule court with scented Mediterranean plants adding a splash of colour. The court will have soft lighting so games can be played into the evening.
The waterside restaurant at Hever Castle Golf Club will complement the new Wellbeing Centre which opened in April. The centre includes five treatment rooms offering osteopathy, physiotherapy, beauty and massage as well as a range of yoga, pilates and paracise classes. Scented shrubs and soft lighting will carry on the wellbeing theme into the garden area.
Former Hever Castle gardener Ian Roots has been behind the transformation of the Waterside with his company Roots Landscape & Gardening.
Ian has 20 years of experience in the landscaping industry with 13 years at Hever Castle.
The Waterside restaurant at Hever Castle Golf Club is inspired by the floral backdrop at Augusta Golf Club in America which plays host to the Masters.
Ian says he is aiming to introduce: “a little taste of Augusta to Hever.”
The decked area will overlook a shaped pond with shelving and pond plants to encourage natural wildlife as well as a spectacular fountain.
Golfers and visitors will be able to enjoy a refreshing drink or tempting snack from the healthy new menu while overlooking the stunning new outside area at breakfast or lunchtime.
Plants at the Waterside restaurant at Hever Castle Golf Club include lavender, olive trees and a pleached lime tree avenue.
The events lawn which will be available to hire will be suitable for those with accessible needs.
The Waterside Restaurant at Hever Castle Golf Club will be officially open on Saturday 29 June.
General Manager Jon Wittenberg said: “We are proud to have worked with an expert team of local contractors to design and build the Waterside. Our brief was clear to them, we wanted to create an area for golfers and visitors to appreciate our unspoilt countryside location, while enjoying our club hospitality. From initial reactions we are assured they have been more than successful and we are grateful to the huge efforts that our contractors have made in this development. ”
