Castle Wedding
March 22 2020 | Weddings

Set in 625 acres of idyllic Kent countryside, the romantic double moated castle was once the childhood home of Anne Boleyn. Hever has a rich and varied history, dating back more than 700 years. Now its splendid panelled rooms contain fine antique furniture, tapestries and a unique collection of Tudor portraits. There are two rooms within Hever Castle that can be hired as a castle wedding venue.

The Inner Hall

With ornate panelling and richly carved columns made of Italian walnut, the inner hall can accommodate up to a maximum of 60 guests for a castle wedding ceremony: 50 seated and 10 standing. The Inner Hall is available to book during the day for a ceremony on days when the castle is closed to the public, or for an evening ceremony, between 6.30pm and 8pm.

The Dining Hall

The Dining Hall boasts an elaborately carved Minstrels Gallery resting on a series of carved musicians and an impressive stone fireplace surmounted by the Bullen coat of arms. This accommodates up to a maximum of 40 guests for a castle wedding breakfast, seated on impressive long banqueting tables. The Dining Hall is available during the day when the castle is closed to the public or evenings after 6.30pm.

Evening Reception

An evening reception for dancing and a licensed bar can be held in The Moat Restaurant until midnight. Wedding guests will then be escorted from the castle to The Moat Restaurant via the Castle drawbridge and forecourt. Guests will experience the beauty of the estate at a time when all the day visitors have long since departed. The floodlit castle then provides a stunning backdrop to your evening reception as dusk falls.
