We’re getting ready for another jam-packed year of events for all the family here at Hever Castle. From Easter Family Fun to Hever in Bloom, Halloween Half Term Fun to Christmas at the Castle – there’s something for everyone.
We are still continuing with your favourites, but make sure you look out for the new events this year including – VE Day Celebrations, Discovery Week, Field of the Cloth of Gold and a Car Event.
Finally, did you know that we will be open daily from Saturday 8th February until Sunday 1st November. We can’t wait to welcome you all back in 2020.

Snowdrop Walk
From February 8
Follow a trail of thousands of snowdrops starting to emerge from their winter hibernation on our Snowdrop Walk – the first sign that spring is just around the corner. Then stroll through the gardens and enjoy the early blossoms of camellia and quince. Plus, on Saturday 8 February award winning garden writer Val Bourne will also be giving a talk entitled The Wonderful World of Galanthophilia.
Valentine’s Dine & Stay
14 & 15 February
Celebrate Valentine’s Day this February with a special stay at the historic Castle where Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn fell in love. What better way to say ‘I love you’ than to treat your partner to a special Dine and Stay package in the very place where Henry VIII came courting Anne Boleyn?
Living with Nature – half term event!
February 15 – 23
Discover more about local wildlife as part of Hever Castle’s February half-term event, Living with Nature. Come and watch falconry displays and learn about the work of different wildlife charities Follow the nature trail in the grounds, create a ladybug or bumble bee in a free craft workshop or transform into an animal with our fabulous face painter*. Dazzling Daffodils

You will feel uplifted this spring during Hever Castle’s new Dazzling Daffodils event. With 14,000 daffodil bulbs set to bloom across the gardens, there will be a wide range of varieties to enjoy.
Mother’s Day Weekend

Spoil mum on Mother’s Day weekend with a memorable family day out. Treat her to a delicious meal or simply enjoy quality time together in the Castle and Gardens.
Easter Family Fun – half term event!

Tulip Celebrations

Be uplifted by 21,000 tulip bulbs proudly standing to attention and providing a visual feast of spring colour. Free daily tours with the gardeners can be enjoyed as well as tulip floral arrangements in the Castle.
May Day Weekend
May 2 – 3
Enjoy May Day at Hever Castle & Gardens by dancing around the Maypole and watching Morris dancing on the Castle forecourt.
VE Day Celebrations

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day, we are hosting a street party style celebration in the grounds with highlights including special visits from Winston Churchill and a life-size model Hurricane on display
Discovery Week – half term event!

Discover different periods of history as part of Hever Castle’s new Discovery Week event in May Half Term. Plus your little ones will get to learn about pivotal inventions over the years.
Field of the Cloth of Gold
June 6 & 7, 13 & 14, 20 & 21, 27 & 28
June 2020 marks 500 years since King Henry VIII and King Francis I of France hosted an elaborate festival near Calais to improve relations between the two rivals. Each weekend in June 2020 you will be able to take part in an event centred around the Field of the Cloth of Gold including Tudor dance demonstrations, lessons, food stalls and more.
Father’s Day

Say thank you this Father’s Day with a memorable day out at Hever Castle & Gardens. There will be a Food and Beer Festival as well as a Jousting Tournament on the 20 & 21 June, so plenty to keep the whole family entertained.
Hever in Bloom
June 29 – July 5
Throughout Hever in Bloom experience the quintessential English Rose Garden at the height of its summer beauty with guided tours of the award-winning Gardens. Many of the Castle rooms will be filled with English floral arrangements created by our florist.
Summer Jousting Tournaments – summer holiday event!

The Knights of Royal England return to battle it out at the annual Jousting Tournament. Spectators will be treated to a thrilling display of action, stunts, falls and fights in an authentic arena complete with Royal Box.

Autumn Colour
From October 1
Dazzling colours throughout Hever Castle Gardens and Grounds make it a must-visit venue this autumn. As the gardens turn vibrant shades of red, pink and gold and the leaves tumble from the trees, it’s the perfect time to head to the romantic castle in Kent for a walk with the family.
Halloween Half Term Fun – half term event!

Treat the children to a spine-tingling programme of entertainment over the Halloween Half Term break.
Christmas at the Castle
November 21 – December 24
Beautifully decorated Castle rooms, welcoming log fires and twinkling Christmas trees celebrating Christmas. Bring the children to meet Father Christmas, enjoy relaxed Christmas shopping in the Gift Shops, and sample delicious festive food in the restaurants. As dusk falls, the gardens are magically illuminated with up-lighting and colour washes.
Winter Walks
December 27 – January 3
Wrap up warm and blow away the cobwebs, walk off the Christmas pudding and enjoy winter walks in the stunning Hever Castle gardens.

Within the grounds of the Hever Castle Estate, there are two opportunities for you to stay the night with us.
Hever Castle has played host to many important events and celebrations for over 600 years. In 1903 when William Waldorf Astor set about restoring Hever Castle to its former glory, he added the Astor Wing, to accommodate his family and guests, before creating a lake and the spectacular Italian Garden to house his impressive collection of ancient Greek and Roman statuary.
