Spring is in sight at Hever Castle. The first daffodils have sprung into life, announcing that spring is on its way proudly from their trumpets. March is the month to get out of the house and start enjoying the warmer climes. With Mother’s Day fast approaching and the Easter holidays already in sight, start planning an action packed spring to remember at Hever. Find out what’s on in March at Hever Castle below:

 Mother's Day afternoon tea at Hever Castle


Show your mum just how much you love her with a wonderful family day out on Mother’s Day Weekend. Enjoy some quality family time together strolling through the grounds, plus the kids will have a chance to make mum a gift

For an extra special day celebrate with a delicious Afternoon Tea (pre-booking is essential).

Enjoy the classic Afternoon Tea in the elegant Guthrie Pavilion Restaurant situated in the Italian Garden overlooking the Lake. 

The Luxury Afternoon Tea (only available on Mothering Sunday) will be held in the beautiful wood panelled Tudor Suite in the Astor Wing adjoining the Castle. 

The Classic Afternoon Tea menu offers freshly prepared finger sandwiches along with a mouth-watering variety of cakes and desserts. All delicacies are served to your table. These are followed by hot and cold beverages with each guest treated to a complimentary glass of sparkling wine (adults only) or elderflower fizz.

For the Luxury Afternoon Tea menu, in addition to mouth-watering finger sandwiches and tantalising sweet treats you can also enjoy a demi-tasse of tomato and fennel soup and fruit tartlets. You will each be treated to a complimentary glass of sparkling wine (adults only) or elderflower fizz.

Dazzling Daffodils


Feel uplifted this spring during Hever Castle’s daffodil event, Dazzling Daffodils. The daffodil event is taking place from 16 – 22 March and throws the spotlight on the narcissus family. It will showcase the new and best in daffodils that parade across the Estate. 

With over 38,000 bulbs set to bloom across the gardens, there will be a wide range to enjoy and put you into a daffodil daze!

Trumpeting the daffodil is bulb expert and RHS Gold medal winner Johnny Walkers. From 16 – 20 March he will be giving walking tours and talks on the daffodil.

Hever Castle’s gardeners will also be sharing their expertise and giving tours on the 21 and 22 March.

Make some special family memories this Easter, hop through the beautiful grounds following the trail of colourful carrots to claim your delicious chocolate treat. As well as an Easter trail, your little ones will also be able to take part in an Easter egg hunt.

Celebrate spring by creating an egg shaped decoration to hang on our Easter tree in this free craft activity.

As well as the Easter themed activities a visit to Hever Castle in spring offers a great chance to explore the stunning gardens. Enjoy a dazzling display of spring blooms from late-flowering daffodils to hyacinths, camellias and tulips.

Tulip Celebrations: 21 – 26 APRIL

The fourth Tulip Celebrations event as part of the Tulip Festival at Hever Castle & Gardens will be even bigger with over 20,000 tulips in bloom in the stunning grounds of the childhood home of Anne Boleyn.

The epitome of elegance, tulips look spectacular planted en masse in either a kaleidoscope of mixed colours or in a uniform colour palette. The Italian Garden at Hever Castle will play host to the largest of the tulip planting displays with a kaleidoscope of colours fanning down the length of the gardens towards the Loggia and the lake

Free tulip tours will also take place from Tuesday to Friday at 11:30, allowing you to learn more about this stunning bulb. 

The striking blooms will continue inside the Castle with tulip displays by in-house florist Pamela Brise.

Award winning chef Aldo Zilli will be bringing ‘A taste of Italy’ to Hever Castle Golf & Wellbeing on Saturday 2 May.

Guests can enjoy a welcome drink from 7pm followed by a delicious four course sharing menu and a masterclass with Aldo at The Waterside for £75 per person.

A selection of Italian wines will also be available to accompany the meal.

Enjoy a delicious Afternoon Tea at Hever Castle.

Served in the Anne Boleyn Wing in a room flooded with natural daylight with views through leaded windows across the orchard to the Castle.

Afternoon Teas at Hever Castle are served on weekends only and must be pre-booked. Booking closes at 3pm on the Friday before the Afternoon Tea date and is only available on one weekend per month (excluding Nov/Dec). Sittings are at 1pm and 3.30pm. Children must be 12 years and over and visitors with accessible needs should contact the Estate Office before booking.
