World Mental Health Day (Thursday 10th October 2024) is a powerful reminder of the importance of mental health, particularly in the workplace. This year’s theme encourages us to look at the role our professional environment plays in supporting mental well-being. At Hever Castle Golf & Wellbeing, we understand that taking care of mental health is just as important as physical health. Today, we want to share how golf, a beautiful workspace, and community support come together to promote wellbeing.
1. The Power of Golf for Mental Health
Golf is much more than just a sport; it’s a great way to relax, de-stress, and recharge. The power of golf for mental health is undeniable. Walking across lush greens, breathing in the fresh air, and focusing on the game helps bring a sense of calmness and mindfulness, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Golf provides a unique blend of physical activity and social interaction, which is key for mental health. The opportunity to connect with fellow players or simply enjoy some time on the driving range on your own can significantly alleviate anxiety and improve your mood.

2. Offices with a View: Wellbeing at Work
Hever Castle Golf & Wellbeing offers unique office spaces that overlook our stunning golf course, making it the ideal location for a workplace focused on wellbeing. Imagine working in an environment where you are surrounded by nature, with picturesque views that inspire calm and creativity. Our offices provide just that, a reminder to take a break, breathe deeply, and soak in the beauty around you.
For those who work here, the golf course isn’t just something to look at—it’s an opportunity to make time for your own mental health. A round of golf or even a short walk on the course can be an excellent way to break up the day and reset. We believe that having the ability to balance work with personal well-being is crucial for productivity and happiness, and our offices are designed with that balance in mind.

3. Supporting Mental Health in the Community
We are also proud to announce that this year, our Golf Captain’s charity is Mental Health Resource. This wonderful charity is dedicated to supporting mental well-being in the community, providing safe spaces for people struggling with their mental health and offering vital services to those in need. By supporting this charity, we aim to contribute to the well-being of our wider community and help those who might be struggling.
Jen Williams, Fundraising and Marketing Manager at Mental Health Resource commented that;
“The UK is in the midst of a mental health crisis, with 1 in 4 of us being diagnosed with a mental illness. We are so grateful for the incredible support shown by Carolyn Swan, James Humm and members of Hever Castle Golf Club this year. By raising funds and awareness for our charity, you are helping local people get the help that they desperately need in these challenging times. Thank you so much!”
