The private gated entrance to the Astor Wing will lead you to the riverside driveway of Medley Court. Only as you approach this stunning period property, surrounded by private lawns and an abundance of Hever roses and seasonal blooms, will you fully appreciate the splendour of this truly magical retreat. Waiting to be discovered inside, beyond a welcoming spacious hallway, you will find a rather regal dining room displaying a fine collection of period paintings, a fully equipped family kitchen with a large kitchen table, a sitting room with view across to the castle that opens out onto a beautiful outside covered terrace and four bedrooms that are predictably divine.
The Dining Room
Lavished with Tudor inspired wood panelling and walls displaying a fine collection of period portraits, the dining room boasts an impressive dining table for feasts and banquets for up to eight guests. In the winter months or just because you can’t resist the crackle of a log fire, there is a working fireplace and a bounty of wood from the Estate to recreate a decadent and regal dining experience.
Fully equipped with all the mod cons you will need to make your stay special, the kitchen at Medley Court is a comfortable retreat to return to for a cuppa after a day exploring in the grounds. Think comfy cottage kitchen, think papers over coffee around the family breakfast table! Double aspect windows fill the kitchen with light and bring in the true beauty of this special place.
Deep cosy sofa’s around a working fireplace await in the oak panelled lounge, offering castle and garden views through leaded windows. Best of all is the terrace where you can sit in the sun, take in the beauty of the Estate and watch the resident swans and ducks enjoy their home in the peace and quiet after the retreat of our Day Visitors.
Expect period colours, panelled walls and predictably divine bathrooms some with claw foot baths and power showers. There are two en-suite double rooms on the ground floor, one also offering a walk in dressing room. On the first floor there is a one further double room (that can be set as a twin if preferred) and a quaint twin room which share a spacious bathroom.
