Autumn Colour 2026

Join internationally respected arboriculturist Tony Kirkham MBE for a fascinating talk and tour exploring some of the most remarkable trees he has encountered throughout his career. Former Head of Arboretum, Gardens and Horticultural Services at Kew Gardens, Tony brings decades of expertise and stories from around the world.

Join award-winning Forest Bathing practitioner and TEDx speaker Tansy for an informal question and answer session exploring the benefits of Forest Bathing. Join Steve Edney from The No Name Nursery for a presentation and guided tour celebrating the spectacular dahlias growing throughout Hever Castle’s gardens. Learn about different varieties, cultivation techniques and seasonal highlights from one of the UK’s most respected growers.

Get creative with sustainability expert Yuki Solle from Cultivate Life. Visitors can take part in hands-on autumn craft activities including upcycled jam jar lanterns and potato autumn mini wreaths, creating seasonal decorations while learning practical ways to reduce waste and live more sustainably.
Parts of the gardens and Lake Walk are likely to be boggy in autumn – wellies or walking boots are recommended. Many parts of the gardens are accessible to prams; however, you may find that an off-road buggy or child carrier is necessary to enjoy some parts of the grounds.

Halloween Half Term Fun 2026

Wander through the grounds keeping an eye out for scenes featuring mad scientists and their wild and wonderful experiments. Discover hidden letters along the way, solve the puzzle and collect your reward from the Information Hut.

Become part of Hever’s mad scientist team by creating your own wearable scientist goggles. Decorate cardboard goggles, add colourful lenses and finish your creation ready for a day of scientific adventure around the grounds.

Step into the world of mad science as Dr Frankenstein prepares to complete his greatest experiment yet – bringing their creature to life!
Using electricity and the power of a plasma ball, Dr Frankenstein will awaken the creature in an exciting, interactive experiment.
Once brought to life, the creature begins its journey of discovery, guided by Dr Frankenstein to learn about the greatest subject of all – science! The audience will join in as Dr Frankenstein explores a series of fun, hands-on experiments, encouraging curiosity, participation and plenty of messy moments.

Transform into your favourite spooky character with Halloween face painting by Carol Slone from Sparkles Face Painting.
Face painting is available on a first come, first served basis. Visitors should book a timeslot with the face painter, pay in the Courtyard Shop and return shortly before their allocated time.

Hever Christmas Fair 2026
Hever Christmas Fair: Friday 6 November
10:30am – 15:30pm (grounds open until 16:30)
Open for just one day, at the fair you will find gifts, gadgets, textiles and decorations.
Please note that on the 6 Nov the Christmas Fair is taking place. £3 of each ticket will be donated to the Hever Primary School and St. Peter’s Church, Hever. Ticket prices have been reduced for this day. There are no garden only or family prices for this date.
