Royal Wedding at Hever Castle & Gardens

Royal Wedding CELEBRATIONS at Hever Castle: 19 May 2018

Hear ye! Hear ye!

The pleasure of your company is requested to view the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on Saturday 19th May 2018 in Hever Castle’s Moat Restaurant. We will be streaming it live from Windsor Castle on a 50″ TV. Seating in the restaurant is limited and will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis to paying customers (pre-booking is not possible).

The union flag will be flying from the Castle to mark the special day, there will be bunting galore in the grounds and commemorative elderflower and lemon flavoured cupcakes topped with white chocolate mascarpone are being specially made by the wonderful Leith’s.

As an added bonus we are giving free entry to anyone called Harry or Meghan (or Megan)*.

Once the ceremony is over, why not take a leisurely stroll through the Castle where extra information will be available about the marriage tapestry in the Book of Hours Room. The tapestry depicts the marriage of Princess Mary Rose to Louis XII so we thought it only fitting to ensure that our guests see first hand the celebrations of previous royal weddings. You will also be able to find out more information about the replica of the marriage clock which Henry VIII gave to Anne Boleyn on their wedding day.

As the former childhood home of Anne Boleyn, we usually do something to mark 19 May each year. However, as the Royal Wedding date is also the anniversary of Anne Boleyn’s execution, happier times in Anne’s life will be celebrated.

There is no need to formally RSVP, but we do hope that you’ll join us at the Castle to help celebrate the Royal Wedding of the year.

*Those called Harry or Meghan/Megan will need to bring photographic ID (passport or driving licence) to claim free entry. Offer only valid on 19th May 2018.

Always check details before travelling. Hever Castle reserves the right to close all or part of the Castle, grounds, catering outlets and activities, and to change or cancel and events. Please note that use of partner offers may be restricted or not valid on event days.
