Military Antiques Roadshow & ‘The Spirit of the Yeomanry’ talk, Saturday 10th October
If you’re visiting Hever Castle & Gardens on Saturday 10th October, take advantage of the Kent Sharpshooters and Yeomanry Museum, which is hosting a special Military Antiques Roadshow and talk on ‘The Spirit of the Yeomanry’. Entrance to the museum is included in all Hever Castle admission prices.
From 11.00am to 2.00pm, the Military Antiques Roadshow will take place in the Think Tank building next to the museum. Visitors are invited to bring along any interesting military items (medals, diaries, photographs, etc.), for discussion and possible valuation by Richard Black and Roan Hackney of the London Medal Company, plus amateur experts from the Museum trust.
This will be followed by a talk at 2.00pm by Dr Patrick Mileham and Professor Ian Beckett, on ‘The Spirit of the Yeomanry’, capturing the fascinating history of part time volunteer soldiers from Kent, the County of London, and across the UK, from 1794 to the present day.
