Tudor Towers Adventure Playground

Explore the Tudor Towers Adventure Playground – a nine metre tall wooden play castle, bigger than a four bedroom house and complete with its own moat, drawbridge and three turrets!

Kids rule this castle, with three towers to climb and two fireman’s poles to escape via, children will love discovering what’s around each twist and turn of the adventure playground.

Experience a castle under siege with one side incomplete as if it’s been attacked and a cargo net to scale; listen out for the noise of fellow archers about to engage in battle!

Children can let off steam as they race around the castle. A central courtyard allows kids to spot their next conquest – including netted tunnels suspended high up in the air.

Climb down the well and crawl along a hidden tunnel on your pursuit through the castle. Emerge out and bravely pass through the fireplace into the Tudor Dining Hall fit for a King and Queen. And for those brave enough to enter, there’s even a secret dungeon to navigate!

With instruments to play and a roof maze to solve, as well as hidden boxes to find and clues to crack their codes, it’s sure to entertain everyone from the younger child to the teenager.

Acorn Dell Play Area

Younger visitors will be able to explore a natural play area at Hever Castle.

Following the success of the adventure playground, Tudor Towers which opened in October 2017, there is now an exciting space for toddlers and children up to seven years old.

The natural play area allows children to freely explore and use their imagination. Features include a 2 metre high living willow structure, a giant sandpit, a grassy mound with three tunnels to clamber in and a slide and a climbing frame. Located in the trees are two lookout platforms linked by a clatter bridge and with a slide for making a quick escape.

There’s also 42 play boulders of various sizes dotted around the play area to climb on, sit on or to use as stepping stones.

The play area aims to blend in with Tudor Towers with the built in seating area for parents made up of curved oak benches topped with castellations (the first line of defence!) and ‘guarded’ with iron gates.

The natural theme of the site is reflected in the grasses, ferns and lavender which will surround the site.

The natural play area will complement the current facility for the under 5s with its swings, slide and climbing frame.

Playground

Shaded by mature trees, children up to the age of 14 years can enjoy the enclosed wooden playground. Discover climbing frames, swings and an aerial runway. There’s even a podswing that adults can enjoy with their children.

For the under 5s there are: swings, rocking wooden horses and a castle themed climbing frame with slide.

Woodland Play Area

The obstacle course in Woodland Walk off Lake Walk is aimed at 4 – 8 years old with plenty of natural activities designed to spark the imagination and burn off some energy.

Young visitors can tackle wooden obstacles, balance and climb over logs and stepping stones, scale rope ladders and explore a den.

Everything has been created from materials already in the woods from fallen or cut down trees and the paths are made from woodchip from the trees.
