Retail Assistants
Hever Castle & Gardens are now recruiting for Retail Assistants to work in the Hever Shop. This is an exciting opportunity to work at this historic and famous visitor attraction, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn.
The Hever Shop sells a carefully selected range of souvenirs, giftware, and stocks a wide selection of plants. An interest in retail and plants is desirable along with great customer service. This role includes lifting and movement of stock on a daily basis.
The positions will operate on a seasonal basis, from June 2022 and running through to the end of the year. The working pattern is on a rolling two week rota, and will include alternative weekends and regular Bank Holidays.
The following positions are available:
- Retail Assistant – 6 days a fortnight working Monday, Saturday and Sunday and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
- Weekend Retail Assistant – Working every Saturday OR Sunday with additional hours available in school holidays.
Hourly pay rate, age 23 and over is £9.50 increasing to £9.75 on completion of successful 3 months’ probation period.
Under 22’s start at £9.18 increasing to £9.43 on completion of successful 3 months’ probation period.
All salaries are reviewed each April.

BREAKFAST Chef
We’re currently recruiting an ambitious Breakfast Chef on a fixed term contract (3-8 months) to help us create exceptional food experiences for our overnight guests at Hever Castle on a fixed term contract during our peak season. As a Breakfast Chef, you will have experience in both A’La Carte and Buffet service.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing, cooking and presenting our hot and cold Breakfast menu in line with the Head Chef Specification
- Identifying opportunities to improve our food services
- Listening and acting on customer feedback to consistently improve our food services
- Monitoring inventories to keep our kitchens well-stocked
- Kitchen cleaning responsibilities to maintain hygiene standards
- Complying with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations
Chef De Partie
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Chef De Partie to join Hever Castle.
As Chef De Partie, you will work in close collaboration with the Sous Chef sharing responsibility for leading junior chefs.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Worked in a similar environment before including contract catering experience
- Quality driven
- Have excellent culinary skills with an attention to detail
- A creative thinker with sound knowledge of the latest food trends

We require a Supervisor to work in a busy catering environment at Hever Castle. The duties for this role include working in a team and managing a team of catering assistants and front of house team members, ensuring excellent service is provided to our customers in a polite and friendly manner, order taking, food service, clearing, basic food preparation, ensuring service areas are kept clean, tidy and safe. Other duties will include training, cashiering, stock management and taking an active part in any unit sales, promotions and abiding to strict HSE requirements.

As a Store Person you are at the heart of our operation and we are looking for individuals who share our energy and passion and will contribute to our ongoing success.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Receipting, organisation and distribution of all deliveries to relevant areas
- Liaising with suppliers about deliveries and any discrepancies in stock
- Have an awareness of stock par levels across outlets and be able to complete stock takes as required
- Ensuring all areas and outlets are fully stocked with correct food, drink and consumable products
- Comply with all company policies in regard to Health & Safety, Hygiene, Manual Handling and COSHH
- The ability to prioritise tasks and complete operational issues in a timely manner
Waiting, Catering Assistants & Concession Staff
Shifts are available immediately.
As a Catering Assistant, you will undertake a variety of tasks within the catering facility including; serving hot & cold food, hot and cold drinks, clearing tables, refreshment service, operating the till & cash handling.

Demi Chef De Partie at The Waterside
Hever Castle Golf & Wellbeing is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Demi Chef de Partie to work within our small but busy team, providing a quality service to our Members, guests and visitors.
You must be flexible with working hours and be able to work weekends and evenings. On-site private accommodation may be available; please enquire for details. A competitive salary is offered for this position, based on an average of 45 hours per week. The position provides the ideal work/life balance, offering straight shifts with rotas provided one month in advance.
