Hever Castle’s luxury holiday cottage, Medley Court, is one of the top places to stay in the UK, according to VisitEngland.
The 5* four bedroom house was named as a recipient of the annual ROSE award on Tuesday (16 October).
The fourth annual award recognises the owners, management and employees of establishments that go the extra mile in order to provide excellent customer service. The award can only be won once and features just 100 accommodation providers a year.
Hever Castle House Manager Roland Smith said: “We are delighted that our excellent service has been recognised with the VisitEngland Rose Award. It is testament to the hard work of the whole team in consistently providing a warm welcome to visitors to the luxury holiday cottage, Medley Court.”
Dating back to 1903, Medley Court is a luxurious four bedroom property forming part of the Astor Wing. It contains two double ensuite bedrooms on the ground floor and a twin and a double on the first floor.
Although Medley Court is now just over one hundred years old, its appearance is that of a Tudor house. The standard of decoration and comfort is outstanding and it still retains the warm, relaxed feel of a family home.
There is an outside covered seating area with beautiful views across the Astor Wing lawns and to the Castle and private garden. Guests to Medley Court have exclusive access to some of the 125 acre award winning gardens when they are closed to the general public.
VisitEngland Director Patricia Yates said: “From B&Bs in beautiful countryside and glamorous glamping, to boutique hotels to quintessentially English pubs with rooms, a range of outstanding accommodation providers right across the country are being recognised today. It is the human touch that these people provide that make visitors’ experiences memorable, ensuring repeat business and helping the industry thrive.”
