Hever Festival Theatre is back on Two Sisters’ Lawn following 15 performances on 9 stages.
The theatre, which turns 40 this year, returned to the original lawn on Friday 11 August with two performances of Donizett’s the Elixir of Love after high winds in July damaged the roof beyond repair.
The damage to the theatre roof led to a temporary stage being put up in nearby Anne Boleyn’s Walk.
The size of the stage rivalled the damaged Two Sister’s stage but without the extended roof which meant that audiences had no protection from the elements and had to bring their own seating.
Theatre Director Ailsa Molyneux, celebrating the return said: “There is so much going on with something for everyone in the coming weeks. Come and join us as we laugh, dance and sing our way into our 40s!”
