Hever Castle & Gardens is celebrating a hat trick at South & South East in Bloom 2021.

For the seventh year in a row the gardens have been awarded a prestigious Gold medal for the 125 acre gardens.

This year Hever Castle were also a joint category winner with Arundel Castle in the Heritage Garden/Estate of the Year Award 2021 and Head Gardener Neil Miller was given an Outstanding Achievement Award.

The South and South East in Bloom 2021 judges scored the gardens 189 out of 200, describing them as “very well maintained” with “enthusiastic and knowledgeable” staff.

The different and varied areas of the gardens were praised and in particular how the design features of the garden interact with the “precious fabric of the site.”

They added: “This is an impressive garden of a high standard and is testimony to the leadership, skill and hard work of the gardeners that work there.”

South & South East in Bloom is the largest horticultural campaign in the region involving 100’s of communities each year. Participating communities create lasting improvements to their local environment for the benefit of those that live, work and visit.

Neil said: “Thanks so much to everyone, especially my wonderful gardening team, without them these awards would not have been possible.”

The gardening team are gearing up for a busy Autumn Colour event (from 1st October) with colour therapy, forest bathing and garden tours (on select days).
