Hever Castle’s luxury Bed and Breakfast has maintained its 5* Gold status and a Breakfast award following a Visit England inspection.

The accommodation was assessed by Visit England and got a 97% quality score. To gain a 5* rating businesses have to score between 85% and 100% and are marked on bedrooms, bathrooms, cleanliness, hospitality and breakfast.

The Gold award is giving to accommodation which offer the `best of the best’, offering exceptional quality and going the extra mile for their customers and the Breakfast Awards recognises breakfasts which exceed guest expectations.

The bed and breakfast received a 100% rating on hospitality and friendliness, service and efficiency, cleanliness, food quality, exterior and dining room and restaurant.

Visit England said that: “Hever Castle Bed & Breakfast continues to provide an excellent standard of bed and breakfast accommodation and presented very well in all areas again this year. The Five Star Guest Accommodation rating is safely retained, as are both the Gold award and Breakfast Award.”

“All the team are wished a positive and successful year ahead.”

Hever Castle’s four bedroom holiday cottage, Medley Cottage also maintained its 5* Gold rating, scoring 95% plus a families welcome designator. 2023 was the best year on record for the holiday cottage in terms of numbers of stays.

Medley Court received a 100% rating for cleanliness and public areas.

House Manager Roland Smith said: “We are delighted to have retained our 5* rating, acknowledging the first class service we offer to our guests. Congratulations to our hard working team.”

The Visit England inspection took place for the bed and breakfast on 14 March and for Medley Court on 15 March.
