Hever Castle has been named as the top attraction in Kent in a Which? survey.
Over 2,000 Which? members were asked to rate 63 historic attractions across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland and give scores out of 5 stars for different aspects of the experience.
Fountains Abbey and Royal Yacht Britannia came in joint first place with a score of 88%.
Hever Castle scored 80% and was rated above Dover Castle and Leeds Castle, the only other attractions in Kent included in the list as well as Hampton Court Palace and William Shakespeare’s birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon.
The childhood home of Anne Boleyn scored 4/5 for entertainment and engagement, 4/5 for facilities, 3/5 for food and drink, 4/5 for lack of crowds and 3/5 for value for money.
