Hever Castle & Gardens is celebrating a hat trick at South & South East in Bloom 2022.
For the eighth year in a row the 150 acre gardens have been awarded a prestigious Gold medal with judges describing it as an “excellent and exemplary garden.”
This year Hever Castle was also awarded gold for the Italian Garden and the Rose Garden at South & South East in Bloom 2022.
The Rose Garden was also named as best in show with staff praised for their weeding, pruning and deadheading of the garden to ensure “visitors see the Rose Garden always at its best”.
Judges added: “Hever Castle Rose Garden is one of the best Rose Gardens in the region if not the UK. An outstanding garden worthy of high praise not only for the Roses but those who care for them. As the bright yellow Rose namesake – Absolutely Fabulous, no improvement needed.”
The South & South East in Bloom is the largest horticultural campaign in the region involving 100’s of communities each year. Participating communities create lasting improvements to their local environment for the benefit of those that live, work and visit.
Head Gardener Neil Miller said: “Thanks so much to everyone, especially my wonderful gardening team, without them these awards would not have been possible.”
