Medley Court, our self-catering holiday cottage sleeping up to eight guests in four bedrooms is also available on select dates over our Christmas festivities, bookable for a minimum of a two night stay.
Nothing says ‘Christmas’ quite like a visit to Santa’s Grotto at Hever Castle. Arrive at the private gated entrance of the Astor Wing and check into your bedroom. Visit Father Christmas* (on selected dates) with your children at 4.15 pm (charges apply, and children will receive a gift) and then relax and enjoy the comfort of the facilities on offer in our award-winning accommodation.
In the evening (on selected dates), bring torches and pop on your wellies to see Hever Castle’s much-loved gardens lit up with glorious colour washes, spectacular illuminations and music.
This year, you can also follow the yellow brick road and embark on a magical journey with loved ones as you explore Christmas in the Land of Oz. Begin your journey in Kansas, at Dorothy’s house, before being swept away to this colourful world, while meeting well-known characters along the trail.
The next morning feast on a sumptuous breakfast before returning to the grounds for more exploring!
As a Bed & Breakfast or Medley Court Guest, you will receive complimentary access to the Castle and grounds during opening hours on the day of arrival, the day of departure and all days in between. Outside of opening hours, guests can enjoy access to some parts of the gardens.
On Mondays and Tuesdays throughout November, plus the first Monday and Tuesday of December, the Estate is closed whilst the Bed & Breakfast remains open. When the Bed & Breakfast is available on days the Castle & Gardens are closed to the public, a Private Guided Tour of the Castle will be offered on the morning of the day of departure. Hever Castle has played host to many important events and celebrations for over 600 years. In 1903 when William Waldorf Astor set about restoring Hever Castle to its former glory, he added the Astor Wing, to accommodate his family and guests, before creating a lake and the spectacular Italian Garden to house his impressive collection of ancient Greek and Roman statuary.
