Hever Castle is delighted to be supporting Hospice in the Weald and the Alzheimer’s Society as its Charity of the Year for 2023.

Visitors will be able to add a donation when they book a ticket online to Hever Castle and make donations to the charity throughout the year via collection pots on site.

Last year visitors to Hever Castle raised over £13,000 for the British Red Cross as part of the charity of the year partnership. In 2023 the decision has been made to support two charities, one local and one national.

Katie Greywood, Income Generation Director at Hospice in the Weald, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Hever Castle has chosen to support Hospice in the Weald, which provides free care and support to local people facing terminal illness and their families. There has never been a more important time to raise funds for the Hospice, as now, for the first time, we are now extending our care to support children and young people facing life-threatening and life-limiting conditions.

“We are looking forward to working together to raise funds and help ensure that many more people are aware of the many ways in which the Hospice makes a vital difference to the lives of patients and families.”

Alzheimer’s Society Area Manager for Kent, Elizabeth Taylor said: “We are delighted that Hever Castle have chosen to support Alzheimer’s Society with their fundraising. 24,000 people are living with dementia in Kent and too many are facing it alone. We support people affected by all types of dementia through some of the hardest and most frightening times.

“Whoever you are, whatever you’re going through, you can turn to us for practical advice, emotional support, and guidance. Our amazing supporters, like Hever Castle go above and beyond to raise vital funds and awareness for people living with dementia.

“With their support we can help more people by using cutting edge research and influencing to push for breakthroughs that will changes the lives of people affected by dementia, now and in the future.”
